Places to visit . . .
There are several magnificent castles nearby including Alnwick Castle with it's beautiful Millennium Garden, along with other stately homes and gardens less than a half hours ride away. For those who like the sea air, the whole coastline is studded with spectacular, clean, sandy beaches including those at Bamburgh and Druridge Bay. But if you are looking for the city life, Newcastle upon Tyne, only 20 miles south has plenty to offer; the Quayside with the award winning Millennium Bridge, The Sage concert hall and The Baltic arts centre along with numerous bars and restaurants. |
